Visitors to Little Wittenham Nature Reserve

The reserve is known locally as the 'Wittenham Clumps', the hill tops provide spectacular views of the Oxfordshire countryside, Chilterns and River Thames. Come along and enjoy one of the regular events run by the Northmoor Trust or print out the self-guided walk around The Clumps.

Parking
Parking is free in the Castle Hll Car Park. Map

Conduct on site
Within the open grassland areas of the reserve there is open public access for informal recreation. Popular activities include, dog walking, kite or model glider flying and bird watching.

Within Little Wittenham Wood public access is restricted to public rights of way. This is to provide large areas in which the reserve's wildlife can survive without excessive disturbance. Please bear in mind that this is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
A warden is often present on site and will happily deal with any enquiries you have.

How to find us
Little Wittenham Nature Reserve is situated about 15km south of Oxford and about 5km north-east of Didcot.

Vehicle access is from minor roads, via the B4015 to the north west or the B4016 to the south. The main access point is from Castle Hill car park, located at OS Grid Ref. SU567924 (Landranger Map 164).Maps

    Horse riding and cycling are restricted to the public bridleway.
