Mother's Day Living Bouquet Wildflower Meadow - £20
Why give a bunch of flowers when you can give a whole meadow of wildflowers to Mum for Mother's Day this year!
As part of the Trust's Sinodun Hills project the sowing of wildflower seeds, including Devil’s-bit Scabious, Oxeye Daisy and Lady’s Bedstraw, will take place to increase the beauty and biodiversity of the landscape.
Not only do wildflowers enhance the beauty of your countryside they also provide essential habitats for rare species including hares and skylark.
Your donation will go towards important work to help wildflower species thrive at the Wittenham Clumps.
Show someone you care by
looking after the Summer Snowflake, locally known as the Loddon Lily: £15
This beautiful wild flower, which has the rather romantic alternative name Summer Snowflake (Leucojum aestivum), is very rare in Britain. It is listed in the British Red Data Book, which documents rare and vulnerable species.
Locally around the Thames Valley, the Loddon Lily is not uncommon and thrives in wet and humid conditions. On the Northmoor Trust Estate this charming plant occurs amongst sedges in damp hollows beside the river Thames.
Your donation will go directly towards maintaining the fragile conditions that support the Loddon Lily colony on the Northmoor Trust Estate.
Adoption pack will include a stunning A4 Loddon Lily print, personalised certificate and information about wildlife & conservation on the Northmoor Trust Estate. Download the adoption form
Happy Hedge Homes
£10 for 10 shrubs
As well as being a characteristic feature of the English rural landscape, hedgerows are a very important habitat for wildlife including butterflies, moths, birds, bats and many small mammals.
Your donation will go directly towards planting 10 hedgerow shrubs forming new hedgerows on the Northmoor Trust Estate.
Help a Hedge
£15 for 1 metre
Hedge laying is a traditional management technique to maintain barriers around fields. The process of cutting and bending plants sideways stimulates stem growth to create a dense stock-proof barrier.
Your donation will go directly towards laying 1 metre of hedgerow creating a habitat for small birds, mammals and insects.
Nurture a Newt
£20
Due to habitat loss, Great Crested Newt populations are declining in many areas.
We have around 3,000 Great Crested Newts on the reserve and carry out important monitoring work. Our ponds have newt- friendly 'traps' installed to capture newts moving to and from the ponds, allowing us to monitor newt health and track movements.
Your donation will go directly towards helping to conserve and monitor our newt population.
Rent a Roost
£20
Bats need warm, dry homes to roost in, and at the Northmoor Trust we're helping by installing Woodcrete boxes.
Your donation will go towards boxes placed around Hill Farm and the Reserve to help reinforce the number of bats in the area.
Cosy Nest Box
£20
Nest boxes are placed around our estate to help visiting birds find a secure place to rear their young. By sponsoring a nest box you will help more birds, such as Great Tits and Blue Tits, to find a happy home.
