Countryside

Forestry

Raising standards in silviculture leads to benefits right across the board – to wildlife as well as the forestry industry.

Sustainable Farming

It is perfectly possible to run a farm on sustainable lines and yet still maintain or even improve its profitability.

Here at the Northmoor Trust we subscribe to the old adage that the best way to lead is by example.

One of the main aims of our conservation work is to give a practical demonstration of how the requirements of those who use the countryside can be balanced against the needs of the landscape itself and of the species that live there. And at the same time, of course, we help to safeguard a precious natural asset for future generations.

By actively encouraging access to much of the land in its care, the Trust seeks to promote a greater understanding of conservation and to get more people interested and involved in protecting our countryside and wildlife. Not by preaching or cajoling, but simply by saying, ‘See for yourself – and enjoy: this is what can be achieved.’
